The member representing Aniocha North State Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi has commended the Governors of Southern Nigeria for meeting, taking and adopting far-reaching decisions on how to solve the challenges that have continued to threaten our national unity and security in recent times.
He gave this commendation as an affirmation of his endorsement of the resolutions of the Southern Governors as pointers for a way forward.
The lawmaker who has consistently believed in the unity of Nigeria through his words, actions and deeds, said it was time for Nigeria to move beyond primordial sentiments and collectively speak in one voice towards the path of national rebirth through equity, fairness and justice.
He averred that if these resolutions are honestly supported and put to work, Nigeria would be on the march towards prosperity, progress and development.
According to him, “There is no gainsaying we need peace. We don’t have another country. It is incumbent on us to build our nation that we all must be proud of. And of course, peace, unity and security are the bedrock for a progressive nation, anchored on love, unity of purpose and accountability.
“I want to state on behalf of the good people of Aniocha North Constituency whom I represent in the State House of Assembly, that I support the resolutions of the Southern Governors in its entirety in the interest of moving our dear country to the next positive level of economic growth and development.
“Security is paramount for economic viability and abundance. We must restrategize by reconstructing our security architecture to meet up with modern day combating of crimes and criminality, without minding the guise it takes. We must be very determined in our quest and visible efforts to combat and prosecute criminals and dealing with criminally minded tendencies as a way of honestly fighting insecurity and seeking national rebirth.
“The decisions of the Southern Governors as encapsulated in the twelve point communique meet the yearnings and aspirations of every Nigerian”, Nwaobi posited.
