The member representing Aniocha North State Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi has commended the PDP Governors for supporting the decision made by Southern Governors in Asaba to ban open grazing in the entire Southern Nigeria.
Nwaobi said it has become clear that the totality of insecurity plaguing Nigeria today is built around open grazing by mainly Fulani herders who often engage hapless farmers in clashes and in addition to kidnapping innocent citizens and unleashing terror on various communities.
The legislator affirmed that this is the best way to go in stemming the tide of insecurity in Nigeria, adding that the decision of the PDP Governors to side with the Southern Governors has provided the country with the best solution on security going forward.
“I am optimistic that Nigeria will find her footing again in terms of peace and unity. However, this can only be achieved by the sincerity of all in calling a spade a spade and respective authorities dispensing justice with fairness and equity.
“The Governors are on the right path and should be supported. We are hopeful that their pathfinding decisions will get Nigeria out of the woods and reposition our national agenda on the path of progress, growth and development.
“On behalf of the good people of Aniocha North, I sincerely commend our beloved Excellencies for this far-reaching decisions and pray that God will continue to use them to bring about peace, security and unity in our country, Nigeria,” Hon. Nwaobi stated.
