The Peoples Democratic Party in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, has restated their unalloyed loyalty to the Governor of the State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who is also the leader of the party.
The Party in the area, demonstrated their stand when they unanimously passed a confidence vote on the Governor on Saturday 12th June, 2021, during an enlarged stakeholders meeting at Issele-Uke, the headquarters of the Local Government Area.
The meeting which was presided over by the Chairman of the party in the area, Hon. Dr. Charles Ochei commended the Governor for his administration’s effort in uplifting the standard of living of the people through execution of programs and projects that have direct bearing to the lives of Deltans, saying that his six years reign in the state has brought about peace, prosperity and progress.
The Stakeholders also resolved to continue to work for the indivisibility of the party in Aniocha north and called on all elected and political appointees from the party at all levels to continue to do more by way of extending the dividend of democracy to the people.
The meeting further emphasised on party discipline while urging members to uphold tenaciously the set rules of the party, noting that a lot will be achieved when party disciplines are maintained.
It was also resolved to urgently reach out to members of the party who seemed to be aggrieved, in one way or the other and are making moves towards taking actions that will be detrimental to the party.
To this end, a high powered committee was unanimously agreed to be constituted and inaugurated in the next few days with the mandate to carry out the function of reaching out to these set of persons, noting that the assignment remains critical and urgent in consonance with the position of the party to hear from all sides and carry everybody along.
Earlier at the meeting, the Chairman of the party in the area, Hon. Dr. Charles Ochei, commended the Stakeholders for their support for the party and hinged on the need for them not to relent in helping towards sustaining the preference of the PDP by the people of Aniocha north, even as he updated and presented his proposals towards moving the party forward which was deliberated upon and formed part of the resolutions taken by the party at the meeting.
Reports were also taken from the wards as presented by the various ward Chairmen.
Present at the meeting included the Party Stakeholders drawn from the various wards within the Local Government Area.
