The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, Hon. Dr Charles Ochei has celebrated and felicitated the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his nomination and approval for the Prestigious National Honours award by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari, GCFR.
Ochei in a statement on Friday October 7, 2023, appreciated the President, Federal Government and the People of Nigeria for finding it expedient and worthy to nominate and gave approval for the National Honour in the rank of CON (Commander of the Order of the Niger) to be conferred on the Governor.
Ochei said that the PDP in Aniocha North are highly delighted on the presidential approval for the National Honour on the Governor, saying that the Governor’s Achievements in Delta State and his contributions to the Nation’s cohesiveness and development preceded him to make the National Honour on him highly deserved and merited.
The Local Government Area PDP Chieftain also expressed the joy of the party over the appointment of the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu into the National Honours roll, in the rank of OON (Officer of the Order of the Niger) and said that the Minority Leader, has continued to be a distinguished Nigerian that has in no small measure, contributed to the Socio Political and economic development of Nigeria.
Ochei noted the Minority Leader’s accomplishments as a cosmopolitan political icon and Legislator and said that he deserved the National Honours award.
He also congratulated two renowned humanitarians and globally distinguished businessmen from Delta State who were also nominated with Presidential nod; the Chairman of UBA and Founder of Tony Elumelu Foundation, Dr. Tony Elumelu and Chairman and Managing Director of RainOil Nigeria Limited, Sir Gabriel Ogbechie.
Ochei said that it is always commendable, honouring worthy individuals such as the duo of Tony and Gabriel who have used their hard earned resources to contribute to national growth and development.
