Governor Oborevwori Honoured With Best South-South Pilgrimage Governor Award

The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been recognized as the “Best South-South Pilgrimage Governor of the Year 2024” for his commitment to the spiritual well-being of Christians in the state.

The award was presented to him by Apostle Silvanus Okorote, Chairman of the State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Apostle Okorote highlighted that Delta State was the only state in the South-South region to sponsor 272 Christians to the Holy Land of Israel and Jordan in 2024, despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

He commended Governor Oborevwori for his dedication to spiritual revival and for maintaining the Government House Chapel, where senior officials worship daily.

In his response, Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude to God for the resources that enabled the pilgrimage and pledged to continue sponsoring Deltans to the Holy Land.

He praised the Chairman of the Board, Apostle Silvanus Okorote, and other officials for their efforts in ensuring the success of the pilgrimage.

The award ceremony was attended by notable officials, including Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme, Special Duty Commissioner Terry Ejiro Etacherure, and the Board Executive Secretary, Very Rev. Fr. Chris Ekabo.
