Immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and the people of Delta State on the occasion of the state’s 34th anniversary.

In a statement released on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Elumelu praised the state’s unity, peace, and progress, attributing its success to the collective efforts of its people.
Elumelu commended Governor Oborevwori’s visionary leadership, highlighting his administration’s strides in peace, unity, security, human capital development, infrastructure, and meaningful development across the state’s three senatorial districts.
He also acknowledged the state’s founding fathers, including former Governors Chief Felix Ibru, Chief James Onanife Ibori, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for laying a solid foundation.
The former Minority Leader celebrated the diversity of Delta State, noting that despite differences in ethnicity, culture, and tradition, the people have continued to coexist peacefully. He urged Deltans to promote unity and support Governor Oborevwori’s administration to achieve the state’s full potential.
“On behalf of the entire Elumelu family, the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, and indeed Deltans as a whole, I heartily rejoice and congratulate our humble and indefatigable Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, our beloved former Governors, founding fathers, and indeed, all Deltans on this auspicious occasion of our 34th anniversary,” Elumelu said.
He concluded by praying that God will continue to make Deltans strong, united, peaceful, and prosperous with one destiny.
