Elumelu Charges Youths on Character Traits That Make Outstanding In Life, As Delta North College of Youths Host Aniocha/Oshimili Youth Stakeholders

The Immediate Past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has called on youths to imbibe five character traits that would make them outstanding and great achievers in life.

Elumelu spoke on Thursday, September 18, 2025, during the Delta North College of Youths and Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency Youth Stakeholders’ meeting held at the Aniocha South Event Centre in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

According to the former Minority Leader the five character traits include humility, empathy, resilience, integrity and strategy. Noting that humility is the key to opening doors, he also urged the youths to be empathy towards their fellow youths and anyone they meet while emphasizing that empathy is a critical aspect of emotional intelligence that involves understanding and sharing love and sympathetic feelings for others.

Elumelu also explained that integrity is a must for anyone who wants to be successful in life, reflecting moral uprightness, honesty. and strong ethical principles. He therefore charged the youths to be resilient in their approach to life, saying that the ability to remain relentless in the face of challenges is the hallmark of success.

He encouraged the young ones to be strategic in their mode of operation, saying that a strategic approach in planning, communication and decision-making is the major spring board to achieving set goals.

Rt. Hon Elumelu called on the youths to mobilize for the ongoing continuous voters registration in their various wards, maintaining that with the voters’ card, it would be easy for them to return President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for second tenure in office. He pledged to continue supporting efforts towards mobilizing the people in that regard.

The renowned politician and federal lawmaker commended the President for his commitment to revamping the economy and the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for his love for the people of Delta North. He noted that the Governor has remained effective, proactive, and prudent in the disbursement of funds, hence his administration has not borrowed.

Elumelu commended the Governor and the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for their uncommon leadership and foresight in moving the State to the APC. He also praised the cordial relationship between the Governor and his Deputy, Chief Monday Onyeme, and described the Deputy Governor as an epitome of humility and loyalty.

The former Minority Leader commended the Aniocha/Oshimili Council Chairmen for the people-oriented projects and interventions in the four local government areas. He made an outstanding financial donation and commitment to the youths, calling on them to remain good ambassadors of APC in all the wards.

The event was attended by over one thousand youths drawn from the four local government areas in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and was witnessed by several dignitaries, including Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, Executive Chairman, Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Jude Chukwunweike; Executive Chairman, Aniocha South Local Government and Hon. Innocent Esewezie; Executive Chairman Oshimili North Local Government and Hon Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, Executive Chairman; Oshimili South Local Government who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG)

The Chairman, Delta North College of Youths, Comrade Emeke Asiwe led the leadership of the body to the Stakeholders meeting.
