Bureau of LG Pensions to Embark on Enlightenment Tour Across Delta

The Delta State Bureau of Local Government Pensions has revealed plans to embark on a sensitization and enlightenment tour of the 25 local government areas of the state with a view to engaging critical stakeholders of the Local Governments Contributory Pensions Scheme.

Chairman of the Bureau, Mr Ben Igo, disclosed that the initiative is designed to engage and enlighten all stakeholders on ongoing reforms and developments in the Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme, towards more efficient and effective service delivery.

According to the Bureau, the tour is expected to be joined by some officials of relevant arms of Delta State Government, officers of the National Pension Commission, and Pension Fund Administrators, amongst others.

The targeted critical stakeholders include Local Government Chairmen, principal officers and staff of local government councils; Education Secretaries, management and staff of the Local Government Education Authorities, and the Association of Contributory Retirees.

The tour schedule indicates that it would commence from Warri North LGA on October 7, then to Ethiope West and Sapele in the first week, while the itinerary for all the local government areas have been conveyed to the councils and local education authorities.
