The immediate past governor of Delta state, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has emphasized the importance of political harmony and cohesion among leaders in Delta North Senatorial District.
Okowa made the call on Saturday while speaking at the Delta North Senatorial meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Obiaruku, headquarters of Ukwuani local government area.
He urged stakeholders in Delta North to mobilize people for voter registration towards the success of the APC in the 2027 general elections.
“I am for peace. I bear no grudge against anyone. My commitment is on political harmony among all the leaders,” Okowa said, responding to a speech by Delta North APC stalwart, Chief Emmanuel Eboh, calling for peace and unity among prominent Anioma political leaders.
Okowa said his “heart is open to work with people” and has always promoted cohesion and togetherness in his political engagements.
“We must move forward. Registration of voters is important for the progress of our party. No doubt we have leaders at the top in Delta North. But I believe the other leaders are in the Ward and local government areas. They must mobilize the people to register for voting. We will achieve a lot with grassroots support,” he said.
The meeting, attended by thousands of party stakeholders, unanimously resolved to support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of 2027.
Okowa appreciated the people of Ukwuani for hosting the meeting and urged all to work together for the common good of the people and to build APC at the state and national levels.
