The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has congratulated two illustrious sons of Delta State, Major General Lawrence Fejokwu and Major General Raymond Ochei, on their retirement from the Nigerian Army after a meritorious service to the Country.
In a statement on Sunday, November 2, 2025, Elumelu expressed unbridled joy and pride in the exceptional commitment and dedication displayed by the retiring generals in their services to the nation.
He paid tribute to Major General Lawrence Fejokwu, describing him as a fine Army officer who served with humility in various capacities, including as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Lagos, and as the Chief of Administration of the Nigerian Army.
Elumelu also hailed Major General Raymond Ochei as a humble officer with intellectual capacity, who demonstrated vast knowledge, expertise, and experience in the management of Army resources, culminating in his well deserved appointment as the Director General, Bureau of Army Financial Management and Audit.
While commending the retiring generals for their patriotism and distinguished services, the renowned Political leader in Nigeria appreciated them for their immense contributions to the development of Delta State, Delta North Senatorial District, Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Aniocha North Local Government Area, and collective Communities, as well as to their Alma Mater, St Pius Xth Grammar School Onicha-Ugbo.
“On behalf of the entire Elumelu family, the people of Aniocha Oshimili Federal Constituency and Delta State as a whole, I sincerely congratulate you both on your retirement from the Nigerian Army after a meritorious service to our dear country Nigeria.
“You have done well for our country Nigeria. We are proud of you and the honour you have brought to our district, federal constituency, and Delta State as a whole. We are grateful to God for His sustaining power on you, over the years in the Military.
“As you retire with great honour and accomplishments, we pray to God to grant you good health and many more years of fruitfulness to your father’s land,” Elumelu prayed.
