Eid al-Fitr: Elumelu Felicitates Muslims, Urges Prayers for Peace, Unity, and National Stability

The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria and the world on the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a goodwill message on Friday, March 20, 2026, Elumelu described Eid al-Fitr as a spiritual cornerstone that reinforces a life of devotion, self-discipline, and renewed faith in God.

He noted that the festival, widely regarded as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” provides an opportunity for humanity to reflect on the virtues of compassion, charity, and peaceful coexistence.

The renowned Federal Lawmaker emphasized that the lessons of Ramadan must be sustained in daily life, urging Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayer and righteous living for the progress and stability of our country.

“As our nation gradually enters a season of political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, it is imperative for us all to continue to offer prayers for peace, unity, and the success of our democracy,” Elumelu stated.

He called on Nigerians across religious and ethnic divides to embrace harmony and mutual respect, stressing the need for citizens to be their “brother’s keeper” in fostering national cohesion.

Elumelu also urged Muslims to pray fervently for the security of the nation and to support the efforts of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in ensuring peace and stability across the country. He commended the President for his ongoing commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

Furthermore, the former Minority Leader encouraged Muslims in Delta State, particularly within the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, to continue working collaboratively with other stakeholders to promote peace, unity, and development in line with the MORE Agenda of the State Government led by Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.

Elumelu extended his warmest wishes to the Muslim faithful on behalf of the Elumelu family and his political associates, praying that the blessings of Eid al-Fitr bring joy, prosperity, and lasting peace to all.
