APC Reps Primaries: Elumelu Records Landslide Victory in Aniocha North Ward 1, as Ngozi Okolie Loses Ward

The direct primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency House of Representatives election has ended in Aniocha North Ward 1, with former Minority Leader of the Green Chamber, Rt Hon Ndudi Elumelu; as the winner.

Elumelu polled 1,476 votes to defeat his only rival and incumbent representative of the Constituency, Rt Hon Ngozi Okolie; who secured one vote.

The LGA Returning Officer, Mr Patrick Nwaoba; who conducted the primaries, declared Rt Hon Elumelu the winner, and thanked party faithful for their orderly and peaceful conduct.

Highly elated Ndudi Elumelu, who joined the queue for the exercise, thanked the people of Ward 1, comprising Obior and Onicha-Uku, for turning out in their numbers and reminded them of the enormity of the task ahead.

He assured them that we would continue from where he stepped aside, if given the mandate, to spread the dividends of democracy across the ward, and indeed the entire Constituency.

In Oshimili South Ward 5, Hon Ngozi Okolie’s ward, Elumelu garnered 4,651 votes, leaving him with only two votes.

The primary election, which was reported to be peaceful and orderly, was conducted by the Oshimili South LGA Returning Officer, Hon Eloka Asiekwu.

Similarly in Oshimili North Ward 5, Ibusa, Innocent Esewezie’s ward, Hon Ndudi Elumelu defeated his only opponent, Ngozi Okolie; by 2,010 votes to 2.

The exercises were supervised by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies.

Details of results from other wards in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency were being collated as of the time of filing this report.
