The immediate past Minority Leader of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, has emerged winner of All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency ahead of 2027 general elections.
Elumelu was declared winner by the APC Delta State Returning Officer, Chief Val Areyinka, at the party’s central collation centre located at the Oshimili South Local Government Event Centre in Asaba.

The election, conducted through the direct mode, took place across the 42 wards in the four local government areas that make up the Constituency.
With the victory, Elumelu becomes the APC flag bearer for the Constituency’s seat the Green Chamber for 2027 general elections.
The exercise was monitored by representatives of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.
In his acceptance speech, Elumelu expressed gratitude to leaders, stakeholders and members of APC for nominating him to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming election.
“It is with utmost humility and gratitude that I address distinguished leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for nominating me to fly the flag of the APC for re-election to represent the good people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
The former Minority Leader thanked God for the opportunity to serve, while also appreciating his family, particularly his elder brother, Dr. Tony Elumelu, for his support.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which, he said, had strengthened the APC across the country.
Elumelu also praised Delta State Governor, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for the implementation of the MORE Agenda, which, he noted, had repositioned the state and boosted support for the APC in the state.
He equally appreciated former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the National Working Committee and Delta State Working Committee of the APC, as well as members of the Ndudi Elumelu Campaign Council led by Dr. Darlington Ijeh.
Elumelu described his emergence as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by party members and the people of the constituency.
According to him, the outcome of the primary underscores the desire of the people for what he termed a return to impactful representation in the House of Representatives.
He stated that during his previous tenure, the constituency witnessed several life-enhancing projects in sectors such as education, agriculture, healthcare, road construction, housing and electricity.
“Our people cannot wait to return to that era when the voice of our Constituency reverberated in the House of Representatives,” he said.
The APC candidate described the ticket as a “unity ticket,” stressing that the people of Aniocha/Oshimili had once again demonstrated their ability to rise above divisive tendencies and speak with one voice.
Elumelu assured constituents that his return to the National Assembly would provide stronger visibility and representation for the federal constituency.
“With me as a ranking member, our Constituency will have a stronger visibility, stronger connection and stronger voice in the House of Representatives,” he stated.
He added that he had already mapped out strategies to attract more development projects, jobs and empowerment opportunities for the people.
Elumelu, however, called on party members to remain united and work collectively for the victory of the APC in the 2027 general elections.
He appealed to other aspirants, particularly Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie and aggrieved party members to embrace sportsmanship and support the party’s cause in the overall interest of the people of the constituency.
