Ebenezer Baptist Church Children Celebrate Children’s Day with Fun, Worship in Issele-Uku

It was an atmosphere of joy, excitement and gratitude on Sunday, May 24, 2026, as children of Ebenezer Baptist Church in the Pilgrim Baptist Association joined their counterparts in the Nigerian Baptist Convention to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day at the Church auditorium in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The colourful event, themed “Holy Spirit Equip Christians For Lifestyle and Service,” featured exciting activities including panel discussion, cultural dance presentations, cultural displays and inspiring choir ministrations by the children.

The celebration witnessed active participation of the children, who took over the conduct of the worship service under the coordination of Mrs. Wendy Ugbolue, Mrs. Nkem Ogbe and Mrs Ogechukwu Dikeamaka

One of the highpoints of the programme was the homily delivered by Master Daniel Chiedu, who spoke extensively on the theme of the celebration. He explained the vital role of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians, stressing that the Spirit of God helps believers to live according to the will and purpose of God.

According to him, the fruits of the Holy Spirit include love, joy, peace, forbearance, forgiveness, kindness and faithfulness, noting that Christians, especially children, must allow the Holy Spirit to guide their daily conduct and service to God.

The children thrilled the congregation with energetic cultural dances and spirited choir renditions, drawing applause from parents, church members and guests who attended the programme.

In her remarks during a special prayer session, the wife of the Pastor in Charge of the Church, Mrs. Ngozi Okolie, appreciated God Almighty for His protection and sustenance over the children.

She offered fervent prayers for the children, committing their lives, future, protection and provisions into the hands of God, while encouraging them to remain steadfast in their Christian faith and obedience to God.

The celebration ended on a joyful note as members of the congregation commended the children for their impressive performances and spiritual enthusiasm throughout the service.
