Oborevwori Postpones Technical College Inauguration Over Military Plane Crash

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has postponed the inauguration of the Model Technical College, Oghareki, in Ethiope West Local Government Area, earlier scheduled for Thursday, to Friday.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, in a statement said the postponement was due to the three days of National Mourning declared by the Federal Government to mourn victims of the fatal Military Plane crash at Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The Governor expressed profound sadness over the tragedy, describing the deceased officers as gallant Nigerians who died in the service of the nation.

Oborevwori expressed deep shock and heartfelt condolences to the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and the families of all the victims of this national tragedy.

While praying God to grant them the strength to bear the irreparable loss, the Governor urged Deltans and Nigerians to continue to remember the deceased and their families in prayers.

Ahon in the statement, said the inauguration of the Model Technical College, Oghareki, will now hold on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 11am.
