Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, Hon. Kevin Okwechime has intensified inspection of the massive rehabilitation of earth link roads in the council area.
The inspection is aimed at ensuring the realization of his administration’s vision of easy and smooth communication amongst communities, especially this yuletide season.
Hon. Okwechime on inspection, was at Ukwu-Nzu/Idumu-Ogo road, Onicha-Ugbo/Idumuje-Unor road and Idumu-Ogo/Issele-Mkpitime road.
At Ukwu-Nzu/Idumu-Ogo road which has been fully open, the Council boss expressed satisfaction with the level of work done and commended the council officials for keeping to time, while at Onich-Ugbo/Idumuje-Unor link road which is near completion, he directed the officials to ensure the project is completed on or before Thursday this week.
Okwechime was also at Idumu-Ogo/Issele-Mkpitime link road where rehabilitation work has advanced considerably. He was also happy with the level and scope of work, even as he directed them to create a way for easy flow of flood water when rain eventually comes.
In a chat with cshowcasenews.com, Hon. Kevin Okwechime said his administration was committed to the massive rehabilitation of all earth roads within the council area, noting that his administration’s procurement of three earth moving equipment was an attestation of that fact.
“We are serious and committed to the project, and we are not leaving any stone unturned. We bought the equipment for the purpose of what we are doing now and we must do the needful as regards opening of all earth link roads in Aniocha North.
“As you can see, we have open Obomkpa/Ubulubu road, Ukwu-Nzu/Idumu-Ogo, we are on with Onich-Ugbo/Idumuje-Unor. By tomorrow as I have directed, we will be done with Onich-Ugbo/Idumuje-Unor road and hopefully before Friday, Idumu-Ogo/Issele-Mkpitime link road would have been completed, and we will move to Idumuje-Ugboko”, the Council boss assured.
While in Onich-Ugbo, Hon. Okwechime also inspected the Council rehabilitation of some of the internal link roads within the community; the Ogbekenu and Ikoko internal link roads.
