Aniocha North LG, Mosra Energy Empower 40 Young Entrepreneurs With Starter Packs…Dr Tony Elumelu, Ndudi Elumelu Supports Initiative

The Aniocha North Local Government, in collaboration with Mosra Energy Ltd, has distributed starter packs worth millions to 40 young entrepreneurs from the area.

The event, held at the Comrade Collins Ogwugwua NULGE Event Centre in Issele-Uku, was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief Benjamin Elue, former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, former Chairman, Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission, Chief Barrister Ada Josephine Kachikwu, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mosra Energy Limited as well as the Chairman of APC in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Sir. Matthew Chinye.

According to the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, who was accompanied to the event by the wife, Mrs Tina Chinye, the empowerment program is a testament to the collaborative efforts of Mosra Energy Ltd and the Local Government aimed at equipping youths with necessary skills and tools to excel in their chosen vocations.

“We want to appreciate Mosra Energy Ltd and its Managing Director, Mr. Olukayode Ramos, for collaborating with us to the tune of Fifty Million Naira towards empowering 40 youths in Aniocha North. Your commitment to the development of our community is truly commendable,” Hon. Chinye said.

The starter packs included equipment for catering, electrical installation, fashion design, and hair dressing, is designed to empower the beneficiaries to become self-reliant and contribute to the economic growth of the local government area. “Each beneficiary will also receive N100,000 in cash to enable them rent a workshop or business premises,” he maintained.

Hon. Chinye urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity, work hard, and be responsible, noting that the empowerment program is designed to help them stand on their own and provide employment to others. “A monitoring team and mentors have been put in place to guide and monitor the activities of the beneficiaries for a period of one year, starting from this month,” he said.

Hon. Chinye expressed gratitude to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for his commitment to the success of the empowerment program.

“Your leadership and vision for the state are truly inspiring, and we are grateful for your support.”

The council boss, also appreciated other prominent sons and daughters of Aniocha North, as well as organizations, who he noted have partnered with his administration in Its vision of rebuilding Aniocha North in various areas.

“Your partnership has been encouraging and an attestation of your belief in our administration’s efforts to bring about an Aniocha North that all will be proud of and beneficial to us all.

“I sincerely appeal for more partnerships from organizations and well-meaning individuals towards the continuous rebuilding of our Local Government Area in security, infrastructure, community development, and human capital development,” Hon Chinye said

The event was a celebration of the local government’s commitment to youth empowerment and development, and a testament to the impact of collaborative efforts between government and private sector organizations.

In his address, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mosra Energy Limited, Mr. Olukayode Ramos, represented by the Manager Human Resources, Mr. Ahmed Ali, said Mosra Energy Limited was proud to extend its corporate social responsibility initiative beyond the project host community by contributing N50 million worth of business support kits to empower 40 young entrepreneurs from 18 communities in Aniocha North Local Government Area.

“This initiative showcases our commitment to economic growth, youth development, and community prosperity. As we congratulate the beneficiaries, may this empowerment serve as a steppingstone for our young entrepreneurs to unlock their potential, uplift their families, and drive economic prosperity in their communities,” he said.

Mr Ramos said Mosra Energy Limited would continue to uphold responsible mining standards, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and equipment aligned with global best practices for sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, in his goodwill message, on behalf of leaders and stakeholders, emphasized the importance of accountability and resilience in business and urged beneficiaries to utilize the resources and opportunities provided to them wisely.

While commending the Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye led administration in Aniocha North Local Government and Mosra Energy Limited for collaborating towards the empowerment of 40 Youths to become entrepreneurs, Elumelu noted that the initiative aligned with the APC Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori in Delta State.

He announced an additional financial contribution of N100,000 from the Founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation, Dr. Tony Elumelu, for each of the beneficiaries, as a gesture of support and encouragement. Elumelu also on his own announced an additional financial contribution of N100,000 to each beneficiary to support the initiative.

Earlier, Hon. Kennedy Okoh, Secretary to the Aniocha North Local Government, welcomed guests to the occasion, describing it as “another wonderful step towards realizing our administration’s vision of rebuilding Aniocha North through meaningful youth empowerment and development.” “We appreciate the Management of Mosra Energy for partnering with us to bring about meaningful development and empowerment to our teeming youth population, in line with the MORE GAINS With RENEWED HOPE mantra of our administration,” Hon. Okoh said. “Your partnership is encouraging and worthy of emulation.”

The event culminated in the formal unveiling and presentation of the starter packs and cash to the beneficiaries by Chief Benjamin Elue, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, and representatives of Mosra Energy Limited and traditional ruler
