Aniocha North Local Government Bids Farewell To Hon SPC Aniamaka, As He Goes Home In Grand Style

The Aniocha North Local Government Council and the good people of Aniocha North, Delta State have paid their last respects to the late Hon. Sunday Precious Chukwuadinula Aniamaka, former Executive Chairman of the Local Government.

Late Hon. SPC Aniamaka transited to eternal glory at the age of 83.

A lying-in-state ceremony was held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Executive Complex, Aniocha North Local Government Council Secretariat, Issele-Uku.

The Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, represented by his vice, Hon. Clara Nneka Dibia, delivered a commendation address at the brief, but solemn ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including former Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Dr. Jaunty Okwudi, former Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Afam Anyasi, former Leaders of the Local Government Legislative Arm, Sitting and Non Sitting Members of the Legislative Arm, Present and former supervisors, as well as management and staff of the Local Government Council.

In his commendation address, Hon. Chinye described late Hon. Aniamaka as a great man who added value to the Government and People of Aniocha North and the state in general. He noted that late Hon. Aniamaka was an embodiment of humility, gentle character, and intellectual capacity, with a strong fear of God and respect for humanity.

The late politician was remembered for his peaceful leadership style, always seeking dialogue to resolve differences.

Hon. Chinye said, “History will always be kind and fair to him as a Man who came, saw and conquered. He was a good Man who yielded his life to the service of God and humanity.”

He noted that late Hon. Aniamaka’s legacy of simplicity, humility, and service will continue to inspire the people of Aniocha North.

The Executive Chairman condoled with the family of the deceased, praying that the Lord God Almighty grants their beloved father eternal rest and consoles them during this moment of grief even as he assured them of the Local Government’s love and support, praying that God will be there for them in times of need.

The lying-in-state ceremony was officiated by the Chaplain of the Aniocha North Local Government, Rev. Yaro Akinbolade, assisted by the Deputy Chaplain, Rev. Gabriel Okpala.

Late Hon. Sir. SPC Aniamaka was later laid to rest at the Cemetery of St Luke’s Anglican Communion Church, Idumuje-Unor after a well-attended funeral service in his honour at the St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Idumuje-Unor.

Canon Kingsley Dieli; Vicar and Parish Priest of St. Luke’s Anglican Church Idumuje-Unor led other Ministers to officiated at the Funeral Service.

Among notable dignitaries at the funeral included former Deputy Governor of the State, Chief Benjamin Elue, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr Victor Ochei, Member of the State Advisory and Elders Council Chief Nkem Okwuofu, and Class of 2004 – 2007 Council Chairmen in the State as well as Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu; former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the State.
