Led by the House committee Chairman, Hon. Chukwudi Dafe, the committee met with the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye and members of his administration at the Executive chamber of the Local Government in Issele-Uku.

Receiving Members of the Committee, Hon. “We are glad to receive you because we know that you have come for genuine reasons and to also profile and see what we are doing with the income from the State and the federal government.

The council boss highlighted notable projects undertaken by his administration, emphasizing community-driven initiative.

“Our projects are based on the needs of the people. We don’t go to any community and start doing projects without ascertaining the needs of the people of that particular community”, Hon. Chinye said.

He explained that upon resumption, his administration solicited input from each of the 18 communities, requesting they identify three priority projects. These community-driven projects according to Hon Chinye, formed the basis for the administration’s development template.

“So far, we have completed projects in 15 out of the 18 communities. We are on track to complete the remaining three by year-end. Our projects focus on community needs, including markets, water supply, school infrastructure, town halls, healthcare facilities, and road rehabilitation,” Hon. Chinye said.

Additionally, Hon. Chinye highlighted significant improvements to the Council Secretariat, including the rehabilitation of critical structures, completion of the NULGE Event Centre and the commencement of the construction of a modern Legislative Building project, saying the initiative aimed to enhance the functionality of the Legislative Arm of the local government.

“We are making progress in Aniocha North, and before the end of our tenure, we will achieve more, aligning with the Renewed Hope for More Agenda of our dear Governor, the MORE Master, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori,” he stated.

Hon. Chukwudi Dafe, speaking for the House Committee, commended the Executive Chairman for aligning with the Renewed Hope for More Agenda of the State Government. He said their aim of visiting was to verify that the projects align with the State Government’s programs.

“From your address, we can see that you are in line with the Renewed Hope For MORE Agenda”, he said and maintained that further assessment would be done during their inspection, even as he affirmed their belief in the Council Chairman’s ability to continue to deliver more for the people of Aniocha North.

“When the people are happy; we are happy and when they are happy they will do more and better for us in the next elections,” Hon. Dafe added.

He said the Budget, Income, and Expenditure and other relevant documents, submitted to the Committee by the Council would be reviewed to cross-reference with projects on ground for a detailed report to be submitted to the Governor, through the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

During a project inspection at Issele-Uku, Hon. Dafe praised the market project, highlighting the Executive Chairman’s vision and effort.

“Initiating such a project requires a large heart. You have shown great leadership in bringing this project to life. You have got the heart and the human feeling to do more for the people,” he said.
