It was an atmosphere of love, thanksgiving, and celebration on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Issele-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, as the First Lady and Wife of the State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, marked her 56th birthday with a humanitarian outreach to persons with special needs and primary school pupils

The colourful event, held at the Aniocha North Local Government Council Event Field, attracted dignitaries from across the state, traditional rulers, women groups, political leaders, and residents who gathered to celebrate the First Lady’s life of service and compassion.

Represented by the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Ezinne Catherine Onyeme, the First Lady expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and reaffirmed her commitment to uplifting vulnerable members of society through her pet project, the *You Matter Charity Foundation*. She noted that since 2024, she had resolved to celebrate her birthdays with the elderly, persons living with disabilities, widows, and orphans.

“Standing here among you fills my heart with joy and gratitude, as we gather not just to mark another year of my life, but to celebrate love, compassion, and togetherness. It is truly wonderful to see you all looking cheerful, hale, and hearty. I thank God for the precious gift of life and good health.

“Today is a joyful day for me. I am deeply grateful to God for adding another year to my life, and I have every reason to give Him glory for His goodness and faithfulness over these 56 years.

“In 2024, I made a promise to always celebrate my birthday with the elderly, persons living with disabilities, widows, and orphans. In keeping with that promise, I am here today to share the joy of this beautiful occasion with you.

“Your strength and resilience inspire me every day. For this reason, I remain committed to supporting your welfare in every way I can. Thank you for being a source of inspiration and an asset to our society. Our time together today will be cherished for a long time. Essential items have been provided for you, so please eat and be merry.

“Let me specially appreciate the Chairman and his lovely wife, as well as the good people of Aniocha North, for graciously playing host to my guests. God bless you all”, She said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, alongside his wife, Mrs. Nkem Tina Chinye, led government officials, leaders, and residents to accord the First Lady and her entourage a rousing reception.

Hon Chinye in his welcome address, described Deaconess Oborevwori as a woman of humility, compassion, and uncommon dedication to humanity whose charitable works have brought hope to children, the less privileged, and persons with special needs across Delta State.

The renowned Council boss thanked the First Lady for choosing Aniocha North as host Local Government Area for the special celebration, describing the gesture as a clear testament to her love and affection for the people. He prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and divine blessings upon her as she continues to complement the MORE Agenda With Renewed Hope of the Delta State Government.

“Your Excellency, as you celebrate today with our children, persons with special needs, and the less privileged, may the Almighty God continue to replenish you with strength, wisdom, good health, and long life. May your days be filled with joy, fulfillment, and greater opportunities to touch more lives, as you continue to complement the vision of the Delta State Government in delivering MORE AGANDA with Renewed Hope to ndi’ Aniocha North and Deltans at large”, Hon Chinye prayed

In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of leaders and the people of Aniocha North, a prominent political leader and member of the Delta State Advisory and Elders Council, Chief Nkem Okwuofu (Agunwanyi), congratulated the First Lady, describing her as a beloved daughter whose humility, kindness, and dedication to humanity have endeared her to Deltans. She commended the First Lady’s unwavering support to her husband, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, noting that her motherly counsel continues to contribute to the administration’s achievements.

The Chaplain of the Aniocha North Local Government Chapel and Moderator of the Pilgrim Baptist Association, Rev’d Dr. Gabriel Okpala, joined members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Aniocha North to offer prayers for the First Lady, seeking divine protection, long life, and greater grace upon her.

Dignitaries at the event included former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief Benjamin Elue; the wife of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly; wives of members of the House of Assembly; some members of the State Executive Council and their spouses; wives of council chairmen; female vice chairmen; Chief Nkem Okwuofu; Chief Josephine Kachikwu; Hon former Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly; Hon Barrister Krees Njiokwuemeni, traditional rulers, and the wife of the Obi of Issele-Uku, Queen Dumebi Nduka.

Women groups such as Unique Ladies for Sheriff, Progressive Female Youths in Politics, NULGE Women, and NCWS added colour to the celebration, while renowned stand-up comedians; Anioma Parrot and Baba K entertained guests with rib-cracking performances.

Highlights of the occasion included prayers, cake cutting, goodwill toasts, and the presentation of gift items by the First Lady to 500 primary school children and 100 persons with special needs, drawing applause from guests who described the outreach as impactful and heartwarming.
