The construction of a 1000-capacity auditorium/civic center for the College of Nursing Science Onicha-Uku, donated by the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, is nearing completion.
The project, which began on April 10, 2025, is expected to be finished in line with the contractual agreement.
A visit to the site on Wednesday June 4, 2025, revealed significant progress, with plastering done and fixing of doors, windows, suspended ceiling, and tiling completed.
Electrical wiring and fittings have also been done, while parameter fencing and flooring of the entire auditorium compound are ongoing.
The auditorium features eight toilet facilities, offices, change rooms, and an underwater storage facility for water supply.
The project engineer, Engr. Chibuike Ofobuike, assured that the project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe, likely within two weeks.
Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu also confirmed that the project would be ready for commissioning and handover by the third week of June.
The state-of-the-art auditorium is expected to provide a comfortable and modern space for events and activities at the College of Nursing Science Onicha-Uku.
During the matriculation ceremony of the School of Nursing Sciences on April 8, 2025, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu announced the commencement of the construction of the 1,000-capacity auditorium and civic center, which he generously donated to the school.
At the event, he promised that the project would be completed within three months.
