GOOD FRIDAY: Elumelu Urges Christians, Nigerians to Embrace Love, Selfless Service

The Minority Leader of the 9th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has extended his heartfelt goodwill message to Christians across Nigeria and beyond on the solemn occasion of Good Friday.

Elumelu, in a message, he personally authored on Friday, April 3, 2026, described Good Friday as a Special Day that reminds Christians of the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross for the salvation of mankind.

He noted that the day symbolizes the greatest act of love and sacrifice ever demonstrated, where Christ gave His life to redeem humanity and restore hope to the hopeless.

According to him, “Good Friday carries profound lessons of sacrifice, unconditional love, reconciliation, forgiveness, compassion, and selflessness” even as he emphasized that these virtues remain essential in building a peaceful, united, and progressive society.

Elumelu urged Nigerians especially Christians to reflect deeply on the significance of the season and strive to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ by showing love to one another, extending a hand of fellowship, forgiving wrongs, and committing themselves to service for humanity.

He further called on the faithful to use the solemn occasion to offer prayers for Nigeria, particularly for the Federal Government, State Governments, and Local Government authorities, so that God’s will should prevail in governance and in the lives of the people.

The former Minority Leader also encouraged Christians to pray fervently against insecurity in the country and to seek divine guidance for leaders at all levels to implement policies that will promote peace, stability, and prosperity across the nation.

The renowned Political Leader, wished all Christians a fulfilling and reflective Good Friday, urging them to remain steadfast in faith and hopeful for a better tomorrow.
