The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has expressed gratitude to the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation for organizing a timely and impactful interactive programme on assessing electoral promises and fostering government-citizen engagement for national unity.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the programme, Governor Sani described the forum as catalytic, saying it has reignited vital conversations on the sacred contract between leaders and citizens. “Governance flourishes when it is inclusive. No president, no governor, no minister thrives alone,” he emphasized.
The Governor commended the Federal Government delegation, led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, for their comprehensive and thoughtful presentation of the mid-term scorecard of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. “It was illuminating, honest, and necessary,” he said.
Governor Sani also highlighted the importance of renewing the legacy of Sir Ahmadu Bello, saying “Sir Ahmadu Bello taught us that leadership is service rooted in vision — and that unity must be founded on justice. Let us not merely recall his legacy; let us renew it, elevate it, and embody it today.”
He noted that the region’s challenges are deep-rooted and cannot be blamed solely on President Tinubu. “Our region’s challenges — from insecurity to underdevelopment — are deep-rooted. They did not begin two years ago. They have festered over decades of neglect, policy inconsistency, and weak institutions,” he said.
Governor Sani called on Nigerians to support progress and insist on justice. “Let this conference be remembered not for the rhetoric, but for the resolve it kindles. Across all sectors, progress is underway — but unity and engagement remain our compass
“May the memory of Sir Ahmadu Bello continue to stir our conscience, illuminate our path, and inspire our deeds,” he prayed.
