International Women’s Day: Elumelu Celebrates Women’s Strength, Salutes Their Role in Nation Building

The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has congratulated women across Nigeria and the world on the occasion of International Women’s Day, praising their invaluable contributions to family, society and national development.

In a message to commemorate the global event, Elumelu commended women for their enduring love, sacrifice and care describing them as the backbone of the family and the moral pillars upon which society stands.

He noted that the nurturing and stabilizing roles women play in the home remain fundamental to the growth, unity and progress of communities and nations.

The former Minority Leader stressed that the critical role of women across all sectors of the economy and building cannot be overemphasized

He observed that within the three arms of government; the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary, women have continued to demonstrate uncommon strength, resilience, competence and dedication to public service.

Elumelu further acknowledged and celebrated notable women whose leadership and humanitarian efforts continue to impact lives positively. He particularly appreciated the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her strength of character and her initiatives aimed at advancing the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He equally commended the wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for her steadfast support and commitment to the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, noting that her contributions have continued to complement the Governor’s developmental strides.

The prominent political leader also paid glowing tribute to Dr. Awele Elumelu, wife of the Chairman of the Tony Elumelu Foundation and Group Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA), for her remarkable leadership in the health sector and her commitment to humanitarian service, which he said has touched countless lives across Africa.

Elumelu further recognized the invaluable support of his wife, Mrs. Ngozi Elumelu, describing her as a strong pillar whose encouragement, understanding and commitment to family values have remained a source of inspiration in his life and public service.

Elumelu also expressed deep appreciation to the women of the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in Delta State for their untiring support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.

He assured that he would continue to work closely with them towards advancing the development of the federal constituency, stressing that women will always remain central to his vision as he continues to dedicate his life to service to humanity.
