Issele-Mkpitime Monarch Inaugurates 2025 Ine-Aho Planning Committee

The Obi of Issele-Mkpitime Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Sunday Ogboli, has constituted and inaugurated an 8-man planning committee for the 2025 Ine-Aho festival.

The committee, led by Hon. Chief Krees Njiokwuemeni, a former Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, is tasked with planning and mobilizing the people of Issele-Mkpitime for the festival.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 6, 2025, at the Obi’s Palace in Issele-Mkpitime.

Other members of the committee include, Mr Luke Mokwunyei, Chief Ben Nwabuzor, Mr. Achomuba Chukwudi, Mr. Matthew Okoh, Hon. Emmanuel Ofili Ikenwa, Mr. Marvis Aniemeke, Mr. Egbune Ugbosikwe, and Deacon Chijioke Williams Ugbolue, who serves as the Secretary.

During the ceremony, the Obi emphasized the importance of preserving the tradition and rich cultural heritage of the people of Issele-Mkpitime. He stressed the need for respect and regard for the Throne and the Stool, which he noted are symbols of the tradition and culture of the people.

The Obi charged the committee to plan a befitting Ine-Aho festival and to hold regular meetings with the Palace in the planning and execution of the festival.

Hon. Chief Krees Njiokwuemeni, on behalf of the committee, appreciated the Obi for the opportunity to serve and pledged their readiness and determination to mobilize the people of Issele-Mkpitime for a successful festival.

After the inauguration, the committee held its inaugural meeting, where they deliberated on the traditional procedure for the Ine-Aho festival and constituted seven sub-committees to ensure effective planning and execution. The sub-committees include Finance and Appropriation, Media, Publicity, and Protocol, Security and Prayer, Venue, Entertainment, and Ine-Aho Time Table Committees.

The committee’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, 2025, where they will receive reports from the various sub-committees.

In a show of support for the festival, Hon. Emmanuel Ofili Ikenwa donated N500,000, while Mr. Marvis Aniemeke donated N200,000 to the committee.
