Ndokwa/Ukwuani: ‘Mr Due Process’ Unveils Reform Agenda, Joins 2027 House of Representatives Race

A serving councillor in Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Chukwuemeke K. Victor, popularly known as “Mr Due Process,” has formally declared his ambition to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives, after securing the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms on Tuesday.

Victor, one of the younger aspirants in the emerging contest, said his decision is driven by a commitment to deepen transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance. Presenting his “New Era, New Order” vision, the Ward 19 councillor from Ezhionum stated that his aspiration is focused on delivering effective representation and contributing meaningfully to national discourse.

“It all commenced with a conviction to represent, a commitment to serve, and a desire to be more impactful in shaping national dialogue,” Victor said shortly after completing the nomination process, in the presence of supporters and political associates.

His entry into the race follows a tenure at the local government level that has attracted public attention. Elected in 2024, Victor was reported to have raised concerns over discrepancies in council financial records during a budget presentation, a development that generated reactions within the local administration.

Subsequently, petitions were said to have been submitted to relevant anti-corruption agencies, prompting increased scrutiny of council activities. Observers note that these developments contributed to the introduction of more frequent stakeholder engagements, including town hall meetings, aimed at strengthening accountability.

In addition to governance advocacy, Victor has undertaken community-based initiatives, including the renovation of the Ezhionum Kingdom town hall, provision of boreholes, youth empowerment programmes, and support for local schools through the engagement of teaching aides.

Notably, he also directed that constituency funds under his control be paid into the account of the community development association to ensure collective management of resources.

With his ambition now formally declared, Victor says his focus at the national level will include policies to expand economic opportunities, strengthen security, and promote people-oriented legislation.

As political activities gradually build ahead of the 2027 general elections, stakeholders in Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency are expected to intensify consultations, setting the stage for a competitive race.
