APC Senatorial Primary: Okowa Polls 1,301 Votes in Obior/Onicha-Uku Ward Exercise

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Primary Election for Ward 1, Obior and Onicha-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State has been concluded amid a peaceful atmosphere and impressive turnout of party faithful.

The primary election, which was held in Obior, attracted several APC members and stakeholders, including the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, who participated in the exercise by queuing up and being counted as a voter.

The exercise commenced at exactly 11:15 a.m. with Mr. Patrick Nwaoba serving as the Returning Officer. Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also present to monitor the direct primary election process.

Security agencies stationed at the venue ensured a peaceful and crisis-free exercise as voters conducted themselves in an orderly manner throughout the exercise.

At the end of the voting and counting process, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa secured a total of 1,301 votes, while Senator Prince Ned Nwoko polled 76 votes.

However, in line with the directive of the national leadership of the APC, the Returning Officer did not officially announce or declare the result of the primary election.
