Okowa Emerges Winner in Aniocha North Ward 8 APC Senatorial Primary, Polls 327–275 Against Ned Nwoko

The political atmosphere in Aniocha North Ward 8 was charged on Monday as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) participated in the party’s senatorial primary election, which ended with a victory for Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa over Senator Ned Nwoko.

At the end of the exercise, Okowa secured 327 votes while Ned Nwoko polled 275 votes out of a total of 606 votes cast.

The primary election, described by observers as keenly contested, witnessed a large turnout of party faithful and stakeholders across the ward.

Reports from some stakeholders and observers alleged that several 18-seater buses conveying students and unfamiliar young persons were brought into the ward to boost support for Senator Ned Nwoko. According to the claims, the individuals were reportedly added to existing supporters already within the community.

The development was said to have generated concern among some residents and party members, who questioned the presence of unfamiliar faces around the voting area. However, community leaders and stakeholders reportedly allowed the exercise to continue peacefully in order to avoid tension and maintain order throughout the process.

Despite the alleged heavy mobilization and political pressure, the final outcome favored Okowa, a development political observers say reflects his enduring grassroots influence and acceptance across Delta North.

Observers also described the result as a strong indication that political structure, experience, and longstanding relationship with the grassroots remain significant factors in the ongoing political realignments within the district.

The final result showed:

*Total Votes Cast: 606
*Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa — 327 Votes
*Senator Ned Nwoko — 275 Votes

The outcome from Aniocha North Ward 8 is expected to further shape political discussions ahead of the forthcoming general elections in Delta State.
