Elumelu Felicitates Muslims on Eid ul-Mawlid, Urges Reflection on Prophet Muhammad’s Virtues

Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, OON, has congratulated the Muslim community in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State and Nigeria at large on the occasion of this year’s Eid ul-Mawlid, the annual commemoration of the birth of Holy Prophet Muhammad.

Elumelu, in a goodwill message to mark the occasion, described Eid ul-Mawlid as a significant period for all to reflect on the life, character and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, particularly his virtues of humility, patience, compassion, tolerance, dedication to peaceful coexistence and devotion to God.

He urged Muslims to use the celebration not merely as a festive occasion, but as an opportunity to renew their commitment to the noble values exemplified by the Holy Prophet and translate those virtues into their daily relationships with one another and society.

According to him, the teachings and exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad provide enduring lessons on love, peace, justice, compassion and concern for the vulnerable, adding that these values remain particularly relevant in building a peaceful, united and prosperous society.

The former Minority Leader called on the Muslim faithful to demonstrate the true spirit of Eid ul-Mawlid by extending love, kindness and care to one another, especially the poor, the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.

“The commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad should inspire us all to reflect deeply on his exemplary life and imbibe the virtues of humility, patience, compassion, tolerance, love and peaceful coexistence which he demonstrated throughout his life.

“This is also a time to reach out to those in need, share with the poor and less privileged, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, friendship and community. By caring for one another, we give practical expression to the values that the Holy Prophet taught and lived”. Elumelu stated”

Elumelu also urged Nigerians to use the occasion to reflect and pray over the challenges confronting the nation, stressing the need for continued prayers for peace, security, stability and unity in Nigeria.

He also called on the Muslim faithful to continue to pray for the success of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Delta State Government under Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, noting that peace and good governance are essential to the sustainable development and prosperity of the country.

The APC candidate assured the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency that he would continue to do his best, within his capacity to promote initiatives and values that would advance peace, progress, development and good governance for the people of the constituency, Delta State and Nigeria in general.

He expressed optimism that with collective prayers, responsible leadership, mutual respect and genuine commitment to the welfare of the people, Nigeria would overcome its present challenges and emerge stronger, more peaceful and prosperous.

Elumelu wished the Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyous and spiritually rewarding Eid ul-Mawlid celebration, praying that the occasion would bring renewed hope, blessings and greater unity to families, communities and the nation.

“May the blessings of this occasion abide with you and your families. I wish the Muslim Ummah in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State and Nigeria a happy and peaceful Eid ul-Mawlid celebration,” he said.
