Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday, May 23, 2026, turned out massively across the 10 wards of the council area to affirm President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the party for the 2027 Presidential Election.
The party faithful, who participated in the direct primary election conducted at various centres across the local government area, demonstrated strong commitment and solidarity by queueing behind the President in affirmation of his candidature.
The exercise, which was effectively coordinated by the Renewed Hope Initiative in the local government area under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, was supervised by officials from the party’s national headquarters led by Hon. Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu, who served as the Local Government Collation and Returning Officer.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and various security agencies monitored the exercise to ensure compliance and maintain law and order throughout the process.
Reports from the various wards indicated that the election commenced promptly and was conducted peacefully without any recorded incident.
Speaking while announcing the outcome of the presidential primary election at the Local Government Collation Centre in Issele-Uku, Hon. Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
According to him, results collated from the 10 wards showed that members of the party in Aniocha North unanimously voted to affirm President Tinubu as the undisputed presidential candidate of the APC for the 2027 general election.
“As contained in the available records from the 10 wards of Aniocha North Local Government Area, members of our great party voted overwhelmingly and unanimously in affirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 election,” he stated.
He thereafter formally declared the President winner of the election in the local government area, having secured the total votes cast in the primary.
In his remarks, the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative in Aniocha North and Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, appreciated members of the APC in the area for their steadfast support and commitment throughout the primary election process.
He congratulated all newly elected candidates of the party at various levels and urged leaders and party faithful in the area to intensify efforts toward ensuring overwhelming victory for the APC and its candidates in the 2027 general election.
Chinye said the peaceful and successful conduct of the primary election reflected the unity and readiness of party members in Aniocha North to work collectively for the continued growth and success of the APC.
Also speaking with journalists in their respective wards, the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoze, Dr. Jaunty Okwudi, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, Engr. Fidel Onwodi and the APC Chairman in Aniocha North, Sir Mathew Chinye, commended the peaceful nature of the exercise and the maturity displayed by party members during the election.
They appreciated members of the party for embracing the direct primary mode and for their massive support toward the emergence of the party’s candidates.
The party leaders further pledged to close ranks and work together towards securing total victory for the APC in Aniocha North Local Government Area and beyond in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
