The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, has commended members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency for their massive turnout during the party’s direct presidential primary election held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, to affirm the candidature of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the undisputed presidential candidate of the party for the 2027 general election.
Elumelu spoke with journalists shortly after joining a large crowd of APC faithful in Ward 1, Obior/Onicha-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area, where party members queued behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in affirmation of his candidature during the primary election.
According to him, reports reaching him from the four Local Government Areas that make up the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency indicated that the turnout of party members was massive, while the exercise remained peaceful, orderly and well coordinated.
“As you can attest here in my ward where I am the agent to our presidential candidate, the members came out in their numbers and all queued behind the President, affirming their preference and acceptance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Elumelu stated.
The former Minority Leader, who was recently elected as the APC flag bearer for the House of Representatives seat for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency ahead of the forthcoming general election, expressed immense gratitude to leaders and members of the APC for the successful nomination of candidates for the House of Representatives, House of Assembly, Senate and ultimately the Presidency.
He also appreciated the people of the federal constituency for their unwavering support and demonstration of love for the APC throughout the period of the party primaries.
“I am happy with the massive support and turnout of our people for the primary elections right from day one. It shows the level of acceptance and regard the people of Aniocha/Oshimili have for our party,” he said.
Elumelu urged party faithful to remain steadfast, resilient and committed to the APC, stressing that the ruling party remains the platform best positioned to deliver all-round development to the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
“I appreciate them immensely and urge them to remain steadfast and relentless in their commitment. We will all join hands together to ensure that all our candidates for the general election are delivered overwhelmingly for the good of our people in the four Local Government Areas in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State and Nigeria at large,” he added.
Party members in the ward voted overwhelmingly and unanimously for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The election in the ward was coordinated by the Ward Returning Officer, Mr. Victor Egwunyenga, and monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), while security agencies were on ground to ensure peace and security throughout the exercise.
