Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, Hon Kevin Okwechime on Monday was at Ubulubu community in the council area for an on the spot inspection of the ongoing opening of the road linking the community with Obomkpa in the same area.
The authorities of the Local Government last week, with the procurement of earth moving equipment, formally commenced opening and grading of earth link roads in the area by mobilizing men and equipment to Ubulubu and Onicha-Ugbo where massive opening of Obomkpa/Ubulubu and Idumuje-Unor/Onich-Ugbo earth link roads are ongoing.
Okwechime was accompanied on the inspection by the supervisor for works; Emeke Oza, supervisor for Finance; Hon. Ekene Eziuno, supervisor for Education; Chiedu Emmanuel, Supervisor for Environment; Hon. Patrick Onochei, Supervisor for Agriculture; Augustine Jiweaha and the Special Adviser to the Council Chairman; kiakenechukwu Okolie.
At Ubulubu, the Chairman was received by the official of the council in charge of the project, Martins Anonyei who explained the level of work done on the 6km earth link road.
The Council boss expressed satisfaction with the level of work done and allotted more days of work on the Ubulubu road due to the deplorable nature of the link road, while directing the supervisor for works to judiciously utilize the additional days allotted for expansion and extensive grading of the link road.
Speaking at the Obi’s Palace on courtesy call, Hon Okwechime commended the traditional ruler of Ubulubu, HRH, Obi Boniface Chukwumaloge Uyanwanne and members of his cabinet for the peace that exists in the community as well as their support for the Local Government, and the State Government.
He said his administration, in partnership with the community, was opening and grading the Ubulubu road for easy communication between the community and Obomkpa as well as other communities in the area, especially this yuletide.
He commended the community for partnering the council towards the project and said efforts are on at the State level towards doing the needful by way of awarding the contract for the construction of the road.
Responding, the traditional ruler of Ubulubu, Obi Uyanwanne appreciated the Council for their show of concern and efforts in the grading of the road, affirming the local Government’s efforts as a temporary relief to him and members of his community, even as he used the opportunity to appeal to the State Government to alleviate their sufferings by way of construction of the road.
With the traditional ruler were some of the leaders of the community that included the President General (PG)of the Community development Union, Mr. Richard Onyegasi.
