Aniocha North State Constituency 2023: Obomkpa Monarch, Obi-in-Council Prays For Odinigwe

It was a rousing reception for the former Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on ICT, Hon. Odinigwe Odigie on Wednesday at the palace of the traditional ruler of Obomkpa, His Royal Majesty, Obi Onyemaechi Josiah Kanyinaga I, Obi of Obomkpa, in Aniocha North Local Government area, when he led members of his campaign organization on a courtesy visit to the revered traditional ruler.

Hon. Odinigwe Odigie, a frontline aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly, Aniocha North State Constituency in the forthcoming general election, was at the palace to formally intimate the Obi and members of his royal cabinet on his intention and to seek for the Obi’s royal blessings.

The Obi, the traditional prime minister, the iyase and indeed all the traditional chieftains including the Ozoma of Obomkpa, Chief Ben Anazia Snr, Omu of Obomkpa, HRM Queen Uzoka, Women and Youth representatives as well as the umbrella body for all sons and daughters of the Community, home and abroad, the Obomkpa Progressive Union (OPU) were fully on ground at the palace as a mark of honour and regard for Hon. Odinigwe Odigie who they described as an illustrious and worthy son of Obomkpa.

Among those that accompanied Hon. Odinigwe on the visit included the former Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Sir SPC Aniamaka, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Hon. Charles Ogedi who is also the President General Obomkpa Progressive Union, the Special Assistant to the State Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Alex Ajumuka, the Special Assistant to the State Governor on Political Matters, Hon Ibe Eboha, the Special Assistant to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly on Political Matters, Mr. Ben Anazia, the leader of the Legislative arm of Aniocha North, Hon. Paul Chukwuwike Okonkwo who was there with some present and former Councilors of the Local Government.

A renowned grassroots politician in Aniocha North, Prince Ifeanyi Ezeh, a two time former Councilor for ward 3 Obomkpa and presently Supervisor in the Aniocha North Local Government, Hon Eric Ekene Eziunor and members of Obomkpa Progressive Union, Asaba branch were also among personalities that accompanied Hon. Odinigwe Odigie to the royal courtesy visit.

In his royal blessings, His Royal Majesty, Obi Onyemaechi Josiah Kanyinaga I, Obi of Obomkpa, commended Hon Odinigwe for his resolve to seek to represent the people of Aniocha North in the Delta State House of Assembly, saying that he is ably qualified and competent enough for the responsibilities attached to the post of the member representing Aniocha North in the State House of Assembly, having displayed uncommon capacity as an elected councilor for one of the biggest wards in Aniocha North, coupled with his experience as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor for four years and Executive Assistant to the Governor on very sensitive positions for more than three years.

He assured that as the traditional ruler of the Community, he will lead the entire people of Obomkpa to support his aspirations and prayed that God Almighty will make his dream of representing the good people of Aniocha North come to reality in 2023.

Earlier, the frontline Delta State House of Assembly aspirant, Hon Odinigwe Odigie had appreciated the royal father and members of the Obi-in-Council for the unprecedented welcome accorded him and members of his Campaign Council and said that he was at the Palace to officially inform them of his intention to contest for the Delta State House of Assembly, Aniocha North State Constituency Seat in 2023.

He noted that his coming to the royal palace of the Obomkpa Kingdom was significant for the fact that it became necessary for him to first inform his Royal Father, His Royal Majesty, Obi Onyemaechi Josiah Kanyinaga I, and the leaders of his community of his intentions, receive their blessings and flag-off his campaigns for the PDP primary elections from the palace, having the blessings of the royal Father and the people.

Odinigwe assured that his intention to represent the People of Aniocha North in the State House of Assembly was genuine and based on his conviction that he has all it takes to give the people of the Constituency good representation at the State House of Assembly with his accumulated experience in government over the years.

In his remark, the former Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Sir SPC Aniamaka expressed his appreciation to the Obi and leaders of Obomkpa for the rousing reception accorded their son, Hon. Odinigwe and said it was an attestation of their love for him.

He said that if Obomkpa could give him from Idumuje-Unor, hundred percent support when he was going for the Chairmanship of the Local Government, he was not surprised that the Community had demonstrated the readiness to give their Son the same treatment.

The former Council Boss, described Odinigwe as a humble personality who has been knowledgeable in the need and aspirations of the people, assuring that with his accumulated experience in governance, he will move the Constituency to a greater level of glory as the representative of the people in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Odinigwe, as a traditional chieftain of Obomkpa, a privilege reserved for royal honour for an illustrious son of the Land.
