Work on the Omu Okpanam Palace project has progressed considerably, with the decking done and block work commenced for the first floor. The site engineer, Charles Ezenwa, was resolute in his commitment to deliver the project before the end of December this year.

“Issele-Uku town hall as you can see, has been roofed, Ubulu-Okiti ICT Centre is almost done and the painting would have been completed by the time you will get there and the project would be completed by the end of the third week in November.

“Okpanam ICT Centre has been completed, what is slowing us down is the Duplex, which is the Omu Okpanam Palace. This is because we did the decking five days ago. Though by Saturday (19/11/22) we will start jacking up the blocks, but we will not remove the decking until after 21days.

“Everything is being done as directed by the Minority Leader and honestly, I want the Omu to be in that Palace by the second week of December, by God’s grace”, the site engineer assured.

The Ogwashi-Uku Farm Resort is about to be decked and will be fully delivered.

According to the site engineer, Prince Igwe, the project is sure to be ready by December ending.

“We have roofed the Ubulu-Uku Town Hall and for the Ogwashi-Uku Farm Resort, we are about to do the decking. The materials for the decking have been provided and hopefully, the resort will be fully done by the end of December if God wills,” Igwe promised.

At the site of Issele-Uku – Idumuje-Unor road rehabilitation project, it was observed that the erosion control drainage has been completed and the road open for vehicular movements.

We spoke with the site engineer and this was what he said: “We are done with the erosion control measures on the road, with the construction of 600 metres flood control drainage system at both sides and two control coverts, channeling flood water from the other side of the drain down to the existing canal.

“What is remaining is the clearing of the road and installations of the pave stones. We are actually using pave stones on the road for sustainability and durability based on the nature of the road. Hopefully we will get the whole thing done in no distant time, but we have made the road passable for motorists now.”

Oko landing bay has been completed and with the receding of the flood which affected all the Communities in that area, arrangements, according to the contractor, are being concluded with a view to Commissioning and handing over the project to the benefiting communities.

The Community Palaces in Obomkpa and Idumuje-Unor are completed and arrangements are also on, towards commissioning and formal handing over the projects to the respective communities.

Massive construction work is still ongoing at the Ugbodu-Ohiodue road project linking Delta State with Edo State.

The road with drainage system has been asphalted up to the Ohe River where the link bridge is presently being constructed with great assurance from the contractor that the project will be concluded soon
