House of Representatives Press Corps Congratulates Elumelu on APC Primary Victory, Hails His Leadership, Legislative Excellence

The House of Representatives Press Corps in the National Assembly has congratulated the Minority Leader of the 9th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, on his emergence as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat.

In a congratulatory letter signed by the Chairman of the House of Representatives Press Corps, Gboyega Onadiran, the journalists described Elumelu’s victory in the primary election held on May 16, 2026, as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership, experience and commitment to effective representation by party faithful and stakeholders across the constituency.

The Press Corps noted that Elumelu’s successful outing in the APC primary underscores his enduring political relevance and the trust he continues to enjoy among his constituents and political associates.

According to the Journalists, Elumelu’s previous service in the House of Representatives, particularly as Minority Leader, was marked by outstanding contributions to legislative development, democratic governance and the advancement of the nation’s parliamentary system.

“Your victory is a testament to the confidence reposed in your leadership, experience, and commitment to effective representation by party faithful and stakeholders in your constituency,” the letter stated.

The parliamentary correspondents further observed that Elumelu’s return to the contest for a seat in the Green Chamber is widely regarded as a positive development for both the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and the National Assembly, given his wealth of legislative experience and track record of service.

The Press Corps also commended Elumelu for maintaining a cordial and mutually respectful relationship with journalists covering the National Assembly over the years.

The journalists described him as a dependable friend of the media who consistently demonstrated openness, accessibility and respect for the press throughout his public service career.

“Over the years, you have remained a friend of the Corps, demonstrating openness, accessibility, and respect for the media in the course of your public service,” Onadiran stated in the letter.

Expressing optimism about his political future, the House of Representatives Press Corps wished Elumelu success as he progresses toward the 2027 general elections and expressed eagerness to work with him again in the 11th House of Representatives.
