The Integrity Group of Nigeria has honoured the former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, OON, with an Award of Excellence and formally recognised him as a Patron of the organisation.
The twin honours were conferred on Elumelu on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, when the leadership and members of the Integrity Group paid a courtesy visit to him at his campaign office in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
The impressive ceremony brought together national and state directors, members and coordinators of the group from Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North and Oshimili South, with the delegation led by the Director-General and National Convener, Dr. Oke Hezx Idawene.
The Award of Excellence, according to the group, was in recognition of Elumelu’s “distinguished public service” to the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency during his service in the House of Representatives, his support for the Renewed Hope and MORE Agenda, as well as his dedication to unity and grassroots mobilisation.
The group also formally recognised and invested Elumelu as a State Patron of the Integrity Group of Nigeria.
Speaking during the occasion, Idawene said the organisation remained committed to grassroots mobilisation and engagement, urging its coordinators across the four local government areas to intensify their activities at the ward and polling-unit levels.
He also highlighted Elumelu’s record of public service and constituency engagement, noting that the group considered his legislative experience and previous interventions relevant to its grassroots mobilisation efforts in Aniocha/Oshimili.
The DG said the organisation’s broader mobilisation agenda included support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Delta State Chairman of the Integrity Group, Dr. Martin Nwachukwu Bolum, also assured Elumelu of the group’s continued support, noting that its grassroots network comprised ward coordinators and unit mobilisers across the state.
Bolum said the organisation would work in partnership with the APC structure to deepen mobilisation and political participation ahead of the elections.
The group’s latest recognition of Elumelu followed its earlier declaration of support for his return to the House of Representatives, with the organisation citing his legislative experience, constituency engagement and previous interventions across Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North and Oshimili South.
Responding, Elumelu expressed appreciation to the Integrity Group for the honours and confidence reposed in him.
He urged members and coordinators of the organisation to remain humble, accessible and empathetic in their dealings with the people, stressing the importance of sustained grassroots engagement.
Elumelu also expressed his appreciation for the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, acknowledging the administration’s efforts in advancing the development of Delta State and assuring that he would continue to pray for the governor and the success of his administration.
The former Minority Leader reiterated his commitment to the people of Aniocha/Oshimili and appealed to members of the Integrity Group to support the emergence of all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
He further charged political leaders and public office holders to remain connected to the people and to see public service as a responsibility that demands humility and accountability.
The occasion culminated in the formal presentation of the Award of Excellence and insignia of office to Elumelu, marking his recognition and investiture as a Patron of the Integrity Group of Nigeria.
