Okowa Has Invested Heavily In Human Capital Development – Oborevwori …Says Delcom has come to stay in Delta State, Commends Latimore’s Media Management Strategies

Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and the State PDP Governorship Candidate for the 2023 General Election, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has invested substantially in human capital development in line with the Stronger Delta mantra.

Oborevwori who was ably represented at the opening ceremony of the 4th Edition of Delta State Communication Workshop, DELCOM 2022, by his Chief of Staff, Dr Ebenezer Okorodud, said that through Delcom Initiative, the State Government scored yet another first position, being the only state in Nigeria wherein government media appointees, social media influencers, bloggers and media partners are trained and retrained annually to enhance their capacities and skills.

Oborevwori assured Deltans and participants that the Okowa administration’s laudable achievements in the state shall be built upon from May 29, 2023 as encapsulated in his M.O.R.E Agenda, deliberately crafted to invigorate socioeconomic and infrastructure development, and to take Delta to the next level from 2023 to 2031.

He commended the dedication to duty and enviable capacity of the Chief Coordinator of Delcom and Executive Assistant to the State Governor on Communications, Dr Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, describing him as a true friend and brother in all ramifications.

The Speaker noted that the effective media management skills, tenacity, doggedness and result oriented content delivery strategies of Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe, in strategic dissemination of information to heterogeneous audiences continues to add value to governance and the advancement of constitutional democracy in the state and by extension, Nigeria.

Oborevwori urged participants to pay attention to the erudite scholars and academicians carefully selected to impact them with strategies and skills that would enable them to function more effectively in their assigned responsibilities.

“I urge Delcom participants to make good use of the opportunity provided by the 4th edition of Delta State Communication Workshop with the theme; Crisis Communication Strategies and Management in Political Power Transition.”

“You are critical partners in nation building hence the state governor and our leader, His Excellency,Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, ensured that your capacities are constantly interrogated and sharpened through the Office of his Executive Assistant on Communications.

“And as elections approaches, it behoove on all of you to champion the propagation of government achievements, policies and programmes, as well as play key strategic roles in electioneering media politics,” Oborevwori said.
