Oshimili North: Ndukwe Hands Over in Grand Style As Delta LG Excos Tenure Expires By Chijioke Ugbolue

The tenure of democratically elected local Government Executives in Delta State expired on Tuesday, 5th January, 2021, with Council Chairmen across the 25 local government Areas, handing over the administration of the Councils to their various Heads of Personnel Management, HPM.

Hon Louis Ndukwe, who was in charge of affairs in Oshimili North Local Government, handed over the administration of the Council in a grand style to the Head of Personnel Management, Lady Blessing Bielonwu.

The handing over ceremony was performed in a valedictory session of the former Chairman, Hon. Louis Ndukwe with members of his Executive Council, Members of the Legislative Arm and Management and staff of the Council.

The grand event, which held in the Chamber of the newly commissioned legislative building, named after the Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly, distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, was a sort of celebration of Hon. Louis Ndukwe and his unprecedented achievements in the Council Area.

Comrade Ephraim Nwabuzor, Chairman NULGE, Oshimili North, led members of his Executive Council to the event that was also witnessed by members of the political class within the Area.

In his valedictory speech, Hon. Ndukwe expressed his appreciation to God Almighty for leading his administration throughout the period they were in charge of the affairs in the Local Government area.

He paid glowing tribute to Senator Nwaoboshi who he described as his father, leader and mentor, affirming that the naming of the Legislative building after the Senator, by the Executive Council of Oshimili North Local Government, was basically because of his immeasurable contribution to the development of representative democracy, as well as being the oldest legislator not only in Oshimili North, but also in Delta North.

Ndukwe commended his vice Chairman, Hon. Uche Esenwa, the Leader, Hon. kema Egenu, members of the legislative arm, the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr Hilary Nwaokolo, supervisors, the HPM, Lady Blessing Bielonwa, the former Treasurer of the Local Government, Dn. Ben Nwajei as well as the Chairman, Executives and members of NULGE in the Council, for their unalloyed support and cooperation with his administration, in the delivery of dividend of democracy to the people of Oshimili North.

Responding separately, Hon. Esenwa, Hon. Egenu, Hon. Nwaokolo, Hon Leo Nkeaka, Lady Bielonwu and the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Ephraim Nwabuzor, celebrated the Man, Louis Ndukwe, describing him as a great leader of the people, with a heart of gold, agreeing that his style of administration has impacted positively on the entire segment of the area, even as they prayed God to take him to another level of responsibility, where he will continue to impact positively on humanity.

Highlight of the valedictory session was the formal handing over of the Council to the HPM, praise and worship led by Hon. Ndukwe himself, a consecrated prayer section led by the Deputy Director of Administration of the Council, Mrs. Teresa Diokpala where thanksgiving were offered to God in appreciation of his faithfulness to the Council under the administration of Hon. Louis Ndukwe.
