Reps Minority Leader Elumelu Sets To Empower Over 900 Constituents, As PDP Leaders Storm Asaba On Friday.

As part of the measure to bridge unemployment gap and mitigate economic hardship in the country, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, has concluded arrangement to empower over 900 persons in his Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State.

According to a statement on Wednesday by the Senior Legislative Assistant to the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Sir Anthony Anyaegbunem, Elumelu, in the 2022 edition of his empowerment programme is expected to present to. the beneficiaries with various vocation and entrepreneurial items in addition to cash support for businesses in a grand ceremony to be held at the Cenotaph, Asaba, Delta State capital on Friday.

Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, other top PDP stalwart and traditional leaders are billed to grace the 2021 edition of the Ndudi Elumelu empowerment programme in the state.

Out of the over 900 beneficiaries, 665 will be empowered with various items including tricycles, motorcycles, high-capacity power generating sets, deep freezers and high standard sewing machines among others while 300 artisans will be empowered with cash grants to support their businesses.

Elumelu will also use the occasion to highlight some of his infrastructural development projects including, road, hospital, agricultural and rural electricity projects; vocational and ICT centers, town hall projects as well as entrepreneurial capacity building programmes in towns and communities across the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.

In that last two years, Elumelu, has in line with his campaign promises, empowered over 2,300 constituents including through direct job placements, establishment of various commercial ventures as well as infrastructural development projects in critical sectors of the economy.

The sharp increase in the number of yearly beneficiaries as being witnessed in the 2020 edition of the empowerment programme represents over 50 percent rise in the 2021 edition.

The empowerment programme is expected to have in attendance the Asagba of Asaba, HRM. Obi Prof. Chike Edozien, some members of the National Assembly, members of the Delta State House of Assembly, members of the Delta State Executive Council, PDP leaders, community leaders across the Federal Constituency as well as the beneficiaries.
