Suspected Herders Abducts An Anglican Priest at Issele-Mkpitime

An Anglican Priest, Rev’d. Anthony Oyi of the Anglican Communion in Oko Agbele in Oshimili South Local Government area of Delta State has been kidnapped by suspected Fulani herders in his farm at Issele-Mkpitime, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the State.

According to the Councilor representing Issele-Mkpitime/Issele-Asagba in the Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Ikenwa, the Priest who hails from Issele-Mkpitime had gone with his family to the farm located along Issele-uku-Issele-Mkpitime road where he was kidnapped with his family members and another man yet to be identified.

Hon. Ikenwa said that the incident happened early Saturday morning, revealing that the abductors have released the Priest’s wife and children while the Priest and the other man are still in their custody.

The criminal elements suspected to be Fulani herdsmen according to the information gathered by cshowcasenews.com, freed the wife of the Priest for her to source and link them with the ransom money for the husband’s release.

In a telephone chat with the delta state Police Public Relations officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeye, she confirmed that the Police n the state are aware, saying that effort is on  to secure the release of the victims
