President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner, patriot and accomplished public servant whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice to Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message authored by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he also celebrated Shettima’s wife, Nana, his children, family members and political associates as the Vice-President marks the milestone birthday on September 2, 2026.
The President described Shettima as “not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague,” but a patriot whose contributions to Borno State and Nigeria have earned him distinction in both his professional and political careers.
Tinubu particularly commended Shettima’s distinguished banking career and his record of public service, first as Governor of Borno State and subsequently as Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to the President, Shettima has, in both capacities, demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and a sustained commitment to improving the lives of the people.
He also praised the Vice-President for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), his support for the administration and his dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“As Chairman of the National Economic Council, Shettima has provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration among the Federal Government and the sub-nationals,” the President said.
Tinubu noted that the Vice-President’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation had contributed to strengthening good governance in the country.
The President further described Shettima’s loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty as invaluable to the administration, expressing appreciation for his steadfast support and partnership in the task of delivering the promises of Renewed Hope to Nigerians.
“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” Tinubu stated.
While congratulating the Vice-President on behalf of the Federal Government, President Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to guide, protect and strengthen him.
He also prayed for divine wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria for the Vice-President.
