High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, the Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw Nation and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan.
In a condolence message signed by his Media Consultant, Dr Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo said he received the news of Uduaghan’s death with profound sadness, describing it as an unexpected loss.
The prominent Ijaw leader recalled Uduaghan’s contributions to efforts to address militancy and restore stability in the Niger Delta, particularly his support for the Presidential Amnesty Programme and pipeline surveillance arrangements during the administrations of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and former President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to Tompolo, Uduaghan’s involvement in these initiatives formed an important part of the engagements that sought to address unrest, promote peace and safeguard critical oil and gas infrastructure in the Niger Delta.
He noted that the late governor’s contributions during that period would remain part of the region’s history, particularly in the efforts to foster dialogue and stability in oil-producing communities.
Tompolo expressed sympathy with Uduaghan’s immediate family, political associates and all those mourning his death, praying that God would grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
He described the former governor’s passing as a significant loss and said he would be greatly missed by those who worked with him and others who valued his contributions to peace and development in the Niger Delta.
