The Minority Leader of the 9th House of  Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has been nominated for the Conferment of Honorary Fellowship Award by the Department of Human Resource Management, University of Benin, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, professional excellence and contributions to society.

The prestigious honour, which comes on the heels of his emergence as the APC flag bearer for the House of Representatives seat for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, is being widely celebrated by political associates, supporters and admirers across Delta State and beyond.

In an official invitation letter dated May 7, 2026 and signed by the Head of Department of Human Resource Management, Dr. Ehimwenma Idubor, the University stated that the award is reserved for distinguished personalities who have demonstrated “exceptional performance in their chosen career” and have made impactful contributions to society in line with the institution’s values of excellence, integrity and community service.

According to the letter, Elumelu’s “remarkable achievements” and “leadership” have continued to set a benchmark for excellence, while his enduring influence on society earned him the Department’s decision to honour him with the fellowship award.

The conferment ceremony is scheduled to hold during the Annual Department of Human Resource Management Public Lecture on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Prof. Festus Iyayi Hall, Faculty of Management Sciences Building, University of Benin, Benin City.

The honour is another major recognition of Elumelu’s enduring relevance in national politics and public service, especially coming at a period when his political profile continues to soar following his adoption as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat.

A seasoned lawmaker and grassroots politician, Elumelu represented Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives where he served meritoriously as Minority Leader, earning national acclaim for his advocacy on democratic governance, national unity and people-oriented legislation.

This latest honour further reinforces Elumelu’s reputation as a leader whose contributions transcend politics into human capital development, leadership mentorship and societal advancement.

It is a well-deserved honour for a man whose public service record continues to inspire confidence and admiration across political and social divides.
