Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has urged students across Delta North Senatorial District to take an active role in shaping the political future of the state by mobilising support for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Elumelu made the call while speaking on behalf of APC House of Representatives candidates for Aniocha/Oshimili, Ika and Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituencies at an event organised by Delta North students in Asaba.

He described students as an important constituency in the political landscape, noting that their numerical strength, organisational capacity and influence within their communities placed them in a strategic position to shape political choices and electoral outcomes.
He challenged the students to use their various leadership platforms and networks to deepen political awareness, encourage voter participation and mobilise support for the APC ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The former Minority Leader also drew attention to government policies and interventions targeted at improving students’ access to education and enhancing their welfare.
He specifically cited the Federal Government’s Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) scheme and the welfare initiatives of the Delta State Government under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to him, the continued implementation of such programmes would provide opportunities for students to pursue their educational ambitions and address some of the economic and social challenges confronting them.
Elumelu commended Delta North students for their contributions to political engagement and mobilisation across the district, acknowledging their longstanding relationship with the APC and the Delta State Government.
He further expressed confidence in the direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, maintaining that its policies and programmes were geared towards addressing the needs of Nigerians, including the student population.
He consequently appealed to the students to translate their political engagement into electoral support for APC candidates in the presidential, senatorial and House of Representatives elections scheduled for January 16, 2027.
