The Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, has hosted a grand ceremony to mark the retirement of Mrs. Victoria Fregene, the Council’s Treasurer.

Mrs. Fregene, who has spent over 30 years in the Unified Local Government Service, was also celebrated on her birthday.
The Executive Chairman was represented at the event by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kennedy Okoh.
It was also attended by prominent officials of the Aniocha North Local Government, family members, and colleagues.

In his remarks, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, commended the retiring Treasurer, Mrs. Victoria Fregene, for her outstanding service and contributions to the Local Government Council.
According to Hon. Chinye, Mrs. Fregene has demonstrated an exceptional ability to overcome obstacles and drive progress for the Local Government, making her a solution-oriented leader who adds value beyond her official duties.
He praised her problem-solving skills and commitment to the Council, noting that she ensures tasks are successfully completed.
The Council boss highlighted Mrs. Fregene’s ability to handle challenges with practical solutions, affirming that her positive impact will be remembered within the administration. He contrasted her results-oriented approach with others who may simply fulfill basic duties.
He expressed appreciation for Mrs. Fregene’s contributions and legacy, noting that her impact will be remembered in Aniocha North Local Government Council, describing her journey as one of hope and service, even as he wished her continued success and advancement in her new chapter in life.
Delivering a heartfelt message during the birthday and retirement party, Pastor Cornelius Okoro emphasized that service to God and life itself are privileges that require appropriate expression in honoring the Lord God Almighty.
Pastor Okoro expressed gratitude to God for Mrs. Fregene’s life, describing her as a woman who has consistently expressed her life in service to humanity and honour to God. He highlighted the importance of humility, citing the book of James, which states that “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
The pastor urged everyone to approach life with humility, emphasizing that it is essential for the soul and one’s work. He noted that the position one finds themselves in life should be approached with humility and encouraged the congregation to follow the way of humility.
Testimonies of Mrs Victoria Fregene’s impacts were also taken from the Supervisor of Finance in the Local Government, Pastor Louis Egbegbune, Head of Personal Management of the Council, Mrs Elizabeth Ojefia, Heads of various Departments of the Council as well as the Branch Chairman of NULGE in the Council, Comrade Collins Ogwugwua.
Earlier in his introductory welcome, the Master of Ceremonies, Deacon Chijioke Williams Ugbolue, described Mrs. Fregene as an embodiment of dedication, hard work, and excellence in public service. He highlighted her exceptional financial acumen, humility, intellectual capacity, and compassion, noting that she has set a high standard for all.
“The celebrant has served for about six years in Aniocha North Local Government Council with distinction under three democratically elected Chairmen and two Acting Chairmen, and her prolonged stay in the Council is a testament to her ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with both the political and civil classes,” he noted.
The ceremony was attended by the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Raphael Uzor, his Deputy, Hon. Frank Iweka, Supervisors, Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman; Hon. Ndubuisi Osemene, Head of Personal Management of the Council, Mrs. Elizabeth Ojefia, Heads of Department, NULGE Chairman, Comrade Collins Ogwugwua, and staff of the Local Government amongst others.
The event was a celebration of Mrs. Fregene’s remarkable career and her commitment to public service, and it marked a well-deserved milestone in her life and career.
Highpoint at the event was a toast to good health, more fruitful years ahead and many more glorious opportunities to add value to the society proposed by Dr (Mrs) Uche Ikeji, cutting of the birthday cake by Mrs Victoria Fregene joined by the representative of the Council boss and other distinguished guests as well as special prayers for her by the Chaplain and Deputy Chaplain of the Local Government, Rev’d Dr yaro Akinbolade and Rev’d Dr Gabriel Okpala respectively.
Gift items were later presented to Mrs Victoria Fregene by the Local Government and others.
