The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, has launched the Delta State Trust Fund, aimed at enhancing peace and security in the state.
This is just as the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu OON who commended the governor for the initiative donated the sum of N20 million Naira to the Trust Fund.
The event which held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Asaba, was attended by industry leaders, top government officials, security leaders, and renowned politicians in the State and beyond.
Speaking with newsmen at the event, Elumelu commended Governor Oborevwori for his “proactive approach to security and peace in Delta State.”
He however emphasized that security is a “collective responsibility of all citizens and not just that of government” noting that donations to the trust fund are a result of the governor’s seriousness on the issue of peace and security in the State
The former Minority Leader maintained that “Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to good governance, security and peace has led to the influx of investors into the state resulting in an unprecedented improvement in the economy of the State”.
The popular federal lawmaker appreciated those who donated to the fund and assured that he will continue to assist in his own way to bring about a secured and peaceful Delta State.
Hon Elumelu also commended the Delta State Commissioner of Police, the State Director of DSS, and other security agencies for their efforts in fighting crimes and criminal elements in Delta state, urging them not to relent in their determination to sustain the peace and security in the State.
Elumelu’s efforts in supporting security agencies in Delta State have been credited as one of his critical achievements as a member and Minority Leader of the 9th House of Representatives.
