The remains of late Mrs. Cecilia Ndidibuokwuenu Osemeke, mother-in-law to the Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Delta State Chapter, Godfrey C. Osakwe, fnipr, were laid to rest on Friday, January 9, 2026, in her hometown of Onicha-Ugbo, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Mrs. Osemeke, who passed on at the ripe age of 95, was accorded a dignified burial following a funeral Mass held in her honour at All Saints Catholic Church, Onicha-Ugbo.
The solemn Mass was officiated by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Malachy Okonkwo, with assistance from the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Patrick Chibuzor, who both extolled the virtues of the deceased and encouraged the family to take solace in her long, fulfilled life.
Thereafter, guests were hosted to a lively reception at the Osemeke family compound in Onicha-Ugbo.
Dignitaries and well-wishers at the burial included members and leaders of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Delta State Chapter, who came in solidarity with their Chairman. The NIPR delegation included the Secretary-General and Publisher of Ndokwa Reporters, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, mnipr; the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Nkem Nweke, anipr; Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of cshowcasenews.com, Deacon Chijioke Williams Ugbolue, mnipr; the Assistant Secretary of the Institute, Mrs. Ese Obote-Ogwu, anipr; and the Ex-Officio, Mrs. Marian Anochili, anipr.
Prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the departed matriarch, with heartfelt condolences extended to the Osemeke family and the children of the late Mrs. Cecilia Ndidibuokwuenu Osemeke.
May the Almighty God grant her eternal rest and perfect peace, and continue to comfort her family.
