APC Ward 8 in Aniocha North Pledges ₦20m for Okowa’s Senatorial Nomination Forms

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 8, comprising Idumuje-Ugboko, Idumuje-Unor and Aniofu communities in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, have pledged to raise the sum of Twenty Million Naira (₦20,000,000) to purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms for Delta North Senatorial aspirant and immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

The pledge was announced during a consultative visit by Senator Okowa to the APC leadership in Aniocha North Local Government Area, held at the Unity Hall, Issele-Uku, the headquarters of the Local Government Area.

Speaking on behalf of the Ward, the Councillor for ward 8 Idumuje-Ugboko, Idumuje-Unor and Aniofu in the Aniocha North Local Government Legislative Arm, Hon. Nnamdi Okonkwor, said the decision was informed by the impressive track record of Senator Okowa during his tenure as Governor, as well as his earlier service in the National Assembly. He assured that the ward would fully support the aspirant at both the party primaries and the general election.

The event took on a festive atmosphere as men, women and youths turned out in large numbers to accord the former Governor a rousing welcome, demonstrating the strong affection and support he enjoys in Aniocha North.

Addressing the gathering, the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, stated that Aniocha North would stand firmly behind President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Okowa and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections, citing their proven records of performance.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Aniocha North, Hon. Mathew Chinye, assured that the party executives in the area would align with the wishes of the leaders and the people, and work diligently towards the victory of all APC candidates. He further called for peaceful and issue-based politics, devoid of rancour and acrimony.

In his remarks, Senator Okowa explained that his visit was to seek the support of the people of Aniocha North, pledging that he would prioritize the interests of Delta North if elected into the Senate. He promised to champion impactful bills and programmes that would usher in a new era of development in Anioma land.

He also urged students from the district in tertiary institutions to take advantage of the National Education Loan Scheme introduced by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

A motion coordinated by Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu for the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa was moved by Bar. Tony Nwaokwu, seconded by Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, and put to a voice vote by Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu. The motion received unanimous approval from the massive gathering.
