Delta APC Fixes November 5 for 2027 Campaign Kick-off in Oleh

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled November 5 for the commencement of its campaign for the 2027 general elections in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area.

Director-General of the Delta APC Campaign Council, Senator James Manager, announced the date on Tuesday during an interactive meeting with members of the campaign council, directors, party candidates, local government chairmen, party chairmen and local government campaign coordinators in Asaba.

Manager said the decision to commence the campaign in Isoko Nation was deliberate, noting that the statewide campaign would eventually conclude in Okpe Local Government Area on a date and at a venue to be announced later.

He urged APC candidates to intensify preparations for the elections, stressing that the limited time available required dedication, strategic planning and active participation in the party’s campaign activities.

The campaign council director-general also cautioned candidates against pursuing personal electoral ambitions at the expense of the party’s collective interests, emphasising the need for unity among all APC flag bearers.

He said the party’s chances of success depended on the ability of its candidates and members to work together to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

“Whatever you are doing, please do it for everybody. As a candidate, whatever you are doing, do it for Mr President, do it for the governor and do it for the entire APC family,” Manager said.

He encouraged candidates to deploy their various communication platforms, particularly social media, to publicise the party’s programmes, policies and achievements, while urging them not to be distracted by opposition propaganda.

According to him, the meeting was organised to address questions and concerns arising from the inauguration of the campaign council and provide an opportunity for party leaders, candidates and grassroots coordinators to exchange views on the campaign’s implementation.

He explained that the engagement formed part of a series of meetings aimed at strengthening coordination, improving communication and ensuring the effective operation of the campaign structure across the state.

Manager also directed local government campaign committees to submit their membership lists by Wednesday to enable the campaign council to establish the composition of the committees and facilitate effective planning and coordination.

He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilisation, urging local organisers to identify capable representatives who could effectively mobilise support in every community and ward across Delta State.

The former senator called on party members to participate actively in the campaign, insisting that candidates must take their responsibilities seriously and begin preparations without delay.

Earlier, APC State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, described the meeting as a significant step towards the commencement of the party’s campaign for the 2027 general elections.

Arenyeka commended the campaign council leadership for its efforts in establishing the necessary structures and urged party stakeholders to maintain unity, strengthen collaboration and work collectively towards achieving the APC’s electoral objectives in the state.
