Aniocha North Skills Acquisition Centre To Be Fully Operational In March 2022, Says Okwechime

The Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, Hon. Kevin Okwechime has assured that the ongoing construction of an ultramodern Skills Acquisition Centre embarked by his administration will be fully operational in the first quarter of next year.

Hon. Okwechime in a chat with cshowcasenews.com on Tuesday after an on-the-spot assessment of the level of work at the project site at Issele-Uku, said that his administration remains committed to the completion of the project for the benefit of the people of Aniocha North, especially, their teeming youths.

He said that his administration has keyed fully into the Skills Acquisition and entrepreneurial programs of the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, noting that the best way to go for the youth remains acquisition of Skills that will make them valuable to themselves and the society at large.

The Council boss expressed satisfaction at the level of work so far done on the project and said that with his experience as a builder, he was impressed with the quality of job being done.

Okwechime commended the local Government Supervisor for works, Hon. Chukwukwei Michael, his Special Adviser, Hon. Kaikenechukwu Okolie and the site engineer, Mr. Azike Emmanuel for their commitment towards the delivery of the project.

The centre, apart from having various departments such as catering, carpentry/furnishing, building, mechanical/electrical, foundry, Iron bending, welding, tailoring, barbing and saloon when completed, will also have a 600 seating capacity civic hall for hosting of meetings and social events.

The council boss who was on the assessment visit with some members of his administration, revealed that the Ugboba Primary Health Care Centre also embarked by his administration will also be fully ready in March next year, saying that the centre which is key to the health care needs of the people of Ugboba in the Council area remains one of the priority project of his administration that will be inaugurated in March, 2022.

While commending the management and staff of the Council for their support and cooperation to his administration since inception, Hon. Okwechime reiterated his administrations resolve to support the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE,  Aniocha North Local Government Council,  towards  the early completion of the Union’s Civic Centre located also at the premises of the Council, noting that the centre will not only benefit the Council, but will be of immense value to the entire people of Aniocha North.

Among officials of the Council with the Chairman at the inspection included; the Secretary to the Local Government, SLG, Hon. Uche Chiejine, the Supervisor for Finance and appropriation, Hon. Eric Eziunor, the Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Patrick Onochie, the Supervisor for works, Hon. Chukwukwei Michael, the Special Adviser to the Chairman, Hon.  Kaikenechukwu Okolie, the branch Chairman of NULGE  of the Council, Comrade Collins Ogwugwua and the internal auditor of the Council,  Mrs. Laju Ethel amongst others.
